We will be explaining how to remove Mcafee products via Mcafee ePO. We have already told you about Mcafee ePO. You can find it here. At first, we point to “System Tree” and select the agent to be removed. At the bottom, we select “Actions”> “Agent”> “Run Client Task Now” tab.
Creating a New Task
To create a new task, we select “Product“> “McAfee Agent“, “Task Type“> “Product Deployment” and “Create New Task” in the “Task Name” tab on the “Run Client Task Now” page.
There is a removal order for products to remove the Mcafee agent. “Mcafee Active Response” will be removed first. Second, “Mcafee Endpoint Security Adaptive Threat Prevention” will be removed. Third, “Mcafee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention” will be removed. Fourth, the “Mcafee Endpoint Security Firewall” will be removed. Fifth, “Mcafee DLP Endpoint” will be removed. Sixth, “Mcafee Endpoint Security Platform” will be removed. Finally, “Mcafee Agent” will be removed seventh. The most important situation here is the last deletion of “Mcafee Agent” with “Mcafee Endpoint Security Platform“.
The most important situation here is that “Mcafee Endpoint Security Platform” and “Mcafee Agent” should be deleted last. Because the Platform is hosted on all its products. The agent provides communication between the client and server.
Finally, we will remove Mcafee Agent from System Tree and Client. We select the computer we want to be deleted on the System Tree. At the bottom, we click “Actions –> Directory Management –> Delete” button.
We select the “Remove McAfee agent on next agent-server communication” option on the incoming “Delete” screen. When we select this, the Mcafee agent on the computer will be deleted when the server and the computer communicate. When we click the “Ok” button, our computer on the System Tree will be deleted.
Note: If we do not check the option “Remove McAfee agent on next agent-server communication“, when the server and client communicate, the computer will come back to the System Tree.
As a result of the operations we made on this screen, our computer seems to have been deleted on System Tree.
